He was predeceased by: his parents, W. L. Blackmon and Hazel Blackmon; and his siblings, Mary H. Winstanley and Dr. William Blackmon, Jr.. He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Kimberlin Carlisle (Steve), Nancy Shepard, Karen Somerset (Scott), Anita Weaver, Holly Shelton, Bruce Blackmon (Wendy) and Bryant Blackmon (Tracy).
