He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Bookwalter and Cecilia Bookwalter; his brother Leonard; and his nephew Paul. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth; his children, John and Anne Bookwalter Walsh (Thomas); his granddaughter Katerina Friese; and his sisters, Lea Ann Bookwalter and Susan Rowles (Perry).
