He was predeceased by: his father Gene "Genie Boy" Handey Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Nicholas (Brooks) and Mason (Julie); his mother Betty Joe; his wife Terri Ann Matthews Handey; his grandsons, Jacob and Theo; and his brother George (Jeannie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and many family and friends.
