She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary E. Taylor and Willie Lewis; her grandparents, Robert and Johnnie Mae Harris (Joe Louis Hooten); and her brother Joe Louis Pickett, Sr..

She is survived by: her children, Tyrone Hooten and Deidre Brown; her adoptive son Thomas Jones (Laurell); and her grandchildren, Jasmine Locklin, Rickey Brown Jr. and Madison Brown. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
