She was predeceased by: her parents, George T. Laney and Ailene Kimball Laney; and her husband Sam Hester. She is survived by: her children, Vickie Barefoot (Don) of Salem, AL and Danny Hester (Wendy) of Montgomery, AL; and her sister Barbara Waldrop of Roanoke. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
