He was predeceased by: his father William Charles Brake. He is survived by: his mother Velma Bailey; his son John Brake; his grandson David Brake; and his siblings, Billy Brake, Randy Brake and Karen Glenn (Gary).

A memorial service was held on Friday, August 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bolton Funeral Home (207 Hwy 47, Columbiana, AL 35051).
