He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Rose Brewer; his parents, James W. Sr. Brewer and Willie Brewer; and his siblings, William A. Kilgore, Margaret Inman and Janice Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Lenz Brewer; his children, Lynn Brewer (Melanie), Phillip Brewer (Dana) and Kim Brewer Brown (Robbie); and his grandchildren, Amber Brewer, Becky Johnson (Josh), Lauren Brewer, David Brewer, Cody Brown (Stephanie), Hunter Brown (Morgan) and Garrett Brown (Kaeli). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Morrison Funeral Home - Tuscumbia (825 N Main St, Tuscumbia, AL 35674). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens (2601 Florence Blvd, Florence, AL 35630).
