He is survived by: his children, Ruth Davis Nichols (Michael), Kathryn Davis Phillips (Michael) and Samuel Dobbs Davis, III (Teresa); his brother Harold Davis of Northport, AL; and his grandchildren, Alison Guillory (Brady), Sam D. Davis IV (Susan), James Nichols (Candace), Claire Nichols of Columbus, GA, Walt Till (Kelly), Jonathan Till (Casey) and Tyler Till (Lauren).
