It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Deacon Melvin Bryon Frazier of Opelika, Alabama, who passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Sherridian Ann Frazier of Opelika, AL; his sons, Christopher Frazier (Malissa) of Helena, AL and Michael Frazier of Opelika, AL; his grandsons, Christopher Frazier of Helena, AL and Noah Frazier of Helena, AL; his siblings, Janice Frazier of Columbus, GA, Reverend Donnie Frazier of Anniston, AL and Richard Frazier of New York, NY; his siblings-in-law, Deborah Owens (Melvin) of Opelika, AL, Janice Allen (Whit) of Opelika, AL, Chandra Darden (Rodney) of Opelika, AL, Felix Bell (Robin) of Roanoke, AL and Ritchie Bell (Delsey) of Lanett, AL; and his aunts, Ruby Morgan of Opelika, AL, Betty Perry (John) of Salem, AL and Shirley Anderson of Detroit, MI. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing was held on Thursday, May 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The lying in state will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church (650 Jeter Ave, Opelika, AL 36801). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
