Obie is survived by: wife Deborah Sims of Detroit, MI; children, Jennifer Goldsmith (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL and LaDell Francis (Desmond) of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Jeremy Jenkins of Atlanta, GA, Paul Goldsmith, II of Charlotte, NC, Jaxson Francis of Lexington, KY, Jasmine Francis of Lexington, KY and Jayda Francis of Lexington, KY; great grandchildren, Sameah Lavonna Shareef and Jahmari Lavonne Gee; sister Roberta Jenkins of Opelika, AL; sisters-in-law, Lillie Jenkins of Loachapoka, AL, Mary Jenkins of Detroit, MI, Demetria Jenkins and Mary Mitchell; niece Angie Jenkins of Opelika, AL; and great-niece Myrical Thornton. Obie is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
