She is survived by: her husband William Moten; her children, Carolyn Grogan (Ricardo) of Oxford, AL, Mattie Pearl Wright (Bennie) of Riverdale, GA and Timothy Briskey of Riverdale, GA; and her siblings, Barbara Hardnett of LaFayette, AL, Cathy Davis of Stockbridge, GA, Netha Huguley of Austell, GA, Janell Huguley of Riverdale, GA, Nick Huguley of LaFayette, AL and Mack Huguley of East Point, GA. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a tribe of nieces and nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel (612 M. L. King Drive SE, Lafayette, AL 36862). The lying in state was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Whitehall Missionary Baptist Church (3355 Co Rd 62, La Fayette, AL 36862). A burial was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetery (402 B St, La Fayette, AL 36862).
