He was predeceased by : his parents, William Ernest Hereford Sr. and Christine Whittle Hereford; and his sister Janice Hereford Reaves. He is survived by : his wife Paula Duncan Hereford of Pell City; his children, Gibson Hereford Ellison and William E. "Trip" Hereford III (Amanda); his granddaughters, Katherine Ellison and Margaret Hereford; his sister Sue Hereford Ingram of Chelsea; and his sister-in-law Potsy Duncan Fine (Craig) of Atlanta. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Valley Hill Cemetery.
