He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Jane Peterson of Albany, GA, Angela Lynn Russ of Chattanooga, TN, C. Walter Peterson, Jr. (Tina) of Albany, GA and Victoria D Lenhart (Tim) of Abilene, TX; his stepgranddaughter Destanie Bloodworth (Matt) of Hogansville, GA; and his sisters, Carolyn Fletcher of Ozark, MO and Anna Jackson.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (212 12th St, Columbus, GA 31901). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Columbus, P.O. Box 828, Columbus, GA 31902 in his honor.
