He is survived by: his wife Diane Garrett; his children, Eugene Garrett (Pamela), Charles Jones, Bruce Jones (Lynn), James Garrett, Leon Garrett, Joe Lee Garrett, Allison Garrett-Barber (Raymond), Lisa Smith and Brenda Smith; his siblings, Sarah Daniel (Roosevelt), Izola Sanders and Benjamin Phillips (Joyce); and his close friend Connie Holloway. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
