He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Martin and Sue Della Martin. He is survived by: his son James E. Thomas, Sr. (Sadie); his daughter-in-law Jewell Martin; his grandchildren, James E. Thomas, Jr., Gregory Thomas (Rhondra), Bobby B. Thomas (Shuntee), Mya Thomas (Shawn) and Michael Simmons (Elisha); his sister-in-law Margaret Martin; and his close friend Sarah Thomas. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
