She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph D. Fontenot and Mary Carter Fontenot; her sisters, Lois Sowell, Donnie Ward and Jo Neal Griffin; her children, Alva W. Castleberry Jr., Brenda Ellis (Andrew), Debra Byrom and Okinawa; and her grandchildren, Conni Milligan (Robert), Brian Steele (Angie), Marie Culpepper (Brandon) and Joshua Byrom of Valdosta, GA.. She was also cherished by her parents and husband.
