He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernard Norris Oswalt and Dora Lee Crowder Oswalt of Phenix City; and his siblings, Camilla Christine Montague and Baxley Oswalt. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Gale Coppedge; his daughter Kathryn Eugenia Senn (Chris) of Dothan, AL; his grandchildren, Christian Senn and Anna Kathryn Senn; and his stepgrandchildren, Nenah Butler and Natalie Edom. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and extended family.
