He is survived by: his wife Sherry McGatha of Piedmont; his children, Jason Leroy McGatha of Piedmont, Kenneth Lee McGatha of Piedmont, Stacie Reynolds (Timmy) of Piedmont and Tina Lightsey (Tim) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Kalyn Haney, Zack Lightsey, Samantha McGatha Long (Melissa), Austn Payne McGatha, Jessie Logan McGatha, Mitchell Lightsey and Easton Reynolds; his great grandchildren, Malakhi Carpenter and Joshua Dunn; and his siblings, Sue Ellen Nolen, Janice McGatha, Elizabeth Shell (Ed), Nellie Clay (Randall), Teresa Lang (Eric) and J. C. McGatha, Jr. (Wanda). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
