He was predeceased by : his parents, Woodrow Carter and Audrey Carter; his wife Judith; and his siblings, Glen Howe Carter and Garry Lee Carter.

He is survived by : his siblings, Joann Carter King and Lavanual Javan Carter; his children, Sharon Hitchcock (Cameron) and Robert Carter (Cindy); his grandchildren, Emily Pentecost (Tyler), Randy Pierce (Jordan), Ben Carter (Destiny) and Will Carter; and his great grandchildren, Carter Pierce, Neal Pentecost, Ash Carter and Isaac Pierce. He is also survived by his family and friends.
