He was predeceased by : his parents, George Oscar and Lucille Eleanor Rikard; his brother Ralph Miller Rikard; his former life partner Dora McNider Moore Rikard; his stepdaughter Kathy Moore; and his nephew Rick Rikard.

He is survived by : his wife Sara Lavender Rikard; and his stepchildren, Betty Moore Paul, Alice Moore, Shirley Gibbs Sammons, Linda Gibbs Ashworth, Edward John Gibbs and Kenneth Eugene Gibbs. He is also survived by step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
