He was predeceased by: his parents, Manley Uptain and Rhoda Uptain; his wife Billie Gail Uptain; and his children, James Eugene Uptain and Astarsia Gail Hale.
He is survived by: his brother Billy Uptain; his daughter Vickie Uptain Hardin (James); and his grandchildren, James Matthew Hardin (Robyn), Jake Hale, Derik Hale, Drew Hale, Melody Gail Hardin Smith and Lea Joann Hardin. He is also survived by Eleven Great Grandchildren.
