He was predeceased by : his parents, Laddie Harrell and Juanita Harrell; and his wife Diane Harrell. He is survived by : his children, James Daniel Harrell Jr. (Wendy), Tonya Harrell Perry, Shanna Harrell and Starla Stewart; his siblings, Laddie Harrell Jr. (Debbie), Cathy Casteel, Janice Beverly (Danny), Michael Harrell (Mary) and Christopher Harrell (Terri); and his grandchildren, Tara Orr, JT Kilgore, Mikayla Smith, Lance Smith, Wyatt Smith, Olivia Smith, Khloey Perry, Kody Harrell, Caleb Harrell, Chloe Harrell, Kaylee Harrell, Andrew Harper, Gage Morrow, Aaron Morrow and Alyssa Stewart. He is also survived by 9 Great-Granchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
