He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Smith and Crola Smith; his wife Juanita McAfee Smith; his daughter Collette Smith McLaughlin; his parents-in-law, Robert and Rena McAfee; his children-in-law, Bobby McLaughlin, Tommy Posey and Deborah Nichols Smith; and his granddaughter-in-law Shelby Vinson.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Coleman Smith (Sheila), Ed Smith (Janet) and Joy Smith Posey; his grandchildren, Christen Smith, Anne McLaughlin, Melissa Smith, Joshua Smith (Kayla), Tara Beckley (Roger), Noel Morgan (David), Bradley Coleman Smith, Blair Adams (Michael) and Kelly Cranmore (Ray); his great grandchildren, Owen Coleman Smith, Bella Joy Beckley, Thad Beckley, Kaleb Smith, Liam Morgan, Maggie Morgan, Brayson Cranmore, Brady Adams, Piper Kate Adams, Riley Coleman Smith, Levi Smith and Tucker Smith; his great great grandchild Thaddeus Coleman Smith; and his siblings-in-law, Bob McAfee, Marjorie McAfee Smith and Carole McAfee. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Inc. (2900 Citizens Pkwy, Selma, AL 36701).
