He was loved and cherished by many people including : his mother Annie Ruth Shores (Doyal); his siblings, Sheila Logan (Michael) and Bruce Shores (Toni); his stepbrother Richard Oshields (Sue); his granddaughter Emelia Shores; his nieces, Melissa Whited (Josh), Jessica Lawrence (Colby) and Megan Gilbert (Josh); his great-nephew Trevor Lawrence; his great-nieces, Lilly Lawrence, Kylie Whited, Adalyn Whited and Katelyn Gilbert; his wife Janet Shores; his father Samuel Shores Jr.; and his grandparents, Samuel Shores Sr. Ida Shores, Worner Dobbins and Leona Dobbins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the W. T Wilson Funeral Chapel (2226 Main St Shiloh, Rainsville, AL 35986). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 at the Welcome Grove Cemetery.
