It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Jean Abney of Montgomery, Alabama, born in Gadsden, Alabama, who passed away on July 9, 2025, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Michael Jean departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Michael Jean may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Michael Jean leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nila Jean Abney and James Hugh Abney. He is survived by: his children, Callie Abney Nolan (Christopher) and Cody Abney; his grandchildren, Dax, Whit and Nila Nolan; his sister Ginger Abney Wilson (Kennon); his nephew Vaughn Wilson; and his friend Cathy Thomas.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Chana Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
