He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Taft and Dorothy Folds Taft; his daughter Angela Taft; and his siblings, Judy House and Waymon Taft.

He is survived by: his daughters, Vicky D. Collier (David) of Lanett, AL and Nicki Taylor of Wadley, AL; his sister Brenda Barnett (Howard) of Roanoke; and his close friend Ann Clark. He is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
