He was predeceased by: his father Alton Heard; his son Danny Wayne Heard; and his sister Susan Huddleston. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Heard; his grandson Logan Heard; his siblings, Debrah Brown of Roanoke, Mike Heard of Roanoke and Dan Dailey of Ardmore, AL; and his mother Myrtle Richardson Heard of Roanoke. He is also survived by two nieces and four nephews.
