He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Evan Manning, Sr. and Ernestine Neal Manning; his daughter Mary Melinda Maynor; his son-in-law Don Arlen Maynor, III; and his sisters, Belle Bachlor and Betty Bowab.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Powell Manning of Roanoke; his sons, Evan Manning (Angela) of Roanoke, AL and Cary Manning (Colleen) of Navarre, FL; and his grandchildren, Sonny Maynor, Meg Shelnutt, Jordan Maynor, Matt Manning, Jon Manning, Eric Manning, Caro Manning, Manda Manning and Leah Manning. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
