He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Faye Yvonne McCord of Roanoke; his children, Sonja Fincher of Wedowee and James McCord (Jill) of Woodstock, GA; his brother Billy McCord of Birmingham, AL.; and his parents, Virgil McCord and Inez Daniel McCord. He was also cherished by three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
McCord was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Virgil McCord, Jr. The family requests no flowers at all for the service.
