He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyd Bruce and Mattie Mae Akins Overton; his former wife Brenda Overton; his granddaughter Jenna Williamson; and his brother Boyd Bruce Overton, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Rushin of Arkansas; his daughters, Belinda Joe Murr (Ben) of Roanoke, Tracey Lynn Baldwin (Joe) of Woodland and Elizabeth Dawn Barber (Eric) of Roanoke; his stepson Phillip Rushin (Amanda); his grandchildren, Tiffine Cummings, Jordan Williamson, Jasmine Murr, Harli Murr, Erica Murphy (Colton), Erin Barber, Garth Murr (Brittany), Dylan Baldwin, Ethan Barber and Ty Baldwin; his stepgrandchildren, Whitney Zeman (Travis) and Kane Rushin (Kaitlin); his sisters, Frances Smith (Thomas) of Roanoke, Dovie Cofield (LeeRoy) of Roanoke, Judy Livingston (Tug) of West Point and Leuticia Barber (Parker) of Roanoke; his pet Sadie; his godson Britt Dunlap; and his great grandchildren, Chance Cummings and Cameron Asbell. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren.
