He was predeceased by: his wife Vivian J. Bradford Hodnett; his brothers, Quinton Hodnett, Orville Hodnett and Awbrey Hodnett; and his great great grandchild Taylor Daniel.

He is survived by: his children, Jo Daniel (Gary) of Douglasville, GA, Vickie Whaley (Mike) of Roanoke, Janis Howard of Shelby, AL and Ron Hodnett (Cathie) of Hickory, NC. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
