He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Pierce and Eula Costley Lewis; his son Samuel Joe Lewis; and his siblings, Rachel Pinkard, Frank Lewis, Tommy Jack Lewis, Lonnie B. Lewis, Edward Lewis and Winfred Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Darthy Lewis of Roanoke; and his children, Pam Williams (Steve) of Roanoke, Terry Lewis (Jackie) of LaGrange, GA and Michael Lewis (Anne) of Roanoke. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Community Studies Class at Handley High School—100 Tiger Circle, Roanoke, AL, C/o Cadie Tipton or Meredith Sears.
