He was predeceased by: his siblings, Johnny Young and Linda Gail Young. He is survived by: his wife Sara Joan Young of Roanoke; his children, Becky Farr (Derek) of Roanoke, Brooke Young of Opelika and Brock Young (Jennie) of Auburn; his grandchildren, Micah Farr, Katie Farr, Annsley Farr, Nathan Young, Noah Young and Abram Young; and his sister Patricia Robinson Pound (Archie) of LaGrange.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
