He is survived by: his children, Joanna Elaine Burson of Roanoke, Julie Watts of Roanoke, James Wallace Burson, Jr. of Rock Mills and John Grady Burson of Roanoke; his brother Roy Glenn Burson of Reno, Nevada; and his grandchildren, John Wallace Burson, Jacy Burson, Lacy Burson, Joshua Burson, Andrew Mendez, J. D. Akins and Kristen Watts. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
