He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Grady Smith and Bernice Smith; his daughter Andrea Johnson (Ron); his grandchildren, Levi and Jude; his son Andrew Smith Jr.; and his siblings, David Smith, Ray Smith, Janet Aycock, Kathy Smith, Judy Hulsey and Shirley Scott. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
