She was predeceased by: her husbands, Willie Washington and Dale Pennington; her son Keith Washington; her parents, Horace Sartain and Loretta Sartain; and her sisters, Elaine Blount and Betty McCollum.
She is survived by: her daughter Christy Simmons (Marc "Cooter"); her daughter-in-law Lisa Washington; her grandchildren, Brittney Wadkins (Alex), Brandon Stanfield (Haleigh), William Washington (Deandrea), Justin Thompson (Erann), Hannah Bray (Mike), Cody Simmons (Tiffany) and Heather Mikel (John); her great grandchildren, Brooklyn Simmons, Cayson Simmons, Brantley Wadkins, Aidynn Wadkins, Cannon Wadkins, Rylee McDonald, Breanna Mikel, Blaine Bray, Madeline Bray and Kylen Bray; her great great grandchild Ariah Howard; her brother Vernon "Buddy" Sartain; and her close friend Wilma Rea. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Spry Memorial Chapel/ Funeral Home (907 Jackson Ave S, Russellville, AL 35653-2625). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
