He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Frances Stephens Gwin of Sand Rock; his nephew James E. Chesnut (Carol) of Leesburg; his nieces, Laura Mae Lankford (Jim) of Glencoe and Mary Jane Tidwell (Mark) of Leesburg; his sons, Eddie, Ronald and Terry Gwin; his sisters, Vedie Mae Chesnut and Mary Lou Bone; and his parents, Miles Herbert and Mary Agnes McDaniel Gwin.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Little River Baptist Brotherhood.
