He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Akery and Tessie Jones Akery; and his grandson Brian Brewster. He is survived by: his wife Marie Akery; his sons, Charles Akery (Frances) of Trion, GA and Roy Akery (Brenda) of Fort Payne, AL; his great grandchild Melton Akery of Richmond, VA; and his sisters, Mildred Hammicker of Bakersfield, CA and Josie Amsberry of Bakersfield, CA. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
