It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Joan Hass (Scottsboro, Alabama), who passed away on January 29, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Shorty Hass; her parents, Buster Matthews and Ruth Matthews; her sisters, Jane Matthews and Joyce Hopper; and her great grandchild Emma Ray Thompson.
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky Hass and Robbie Hass (Sharon); her grandchildren, Whitney Hass and Heath Hass; her great grandchild Memphis Thompson; her siblings, Billy Matthews (Shirley), Kenneth "Spud" Matthews (Patricia) and Virginia "Ginger" Brewer (Tom); and her close friends, Kathy Venable and Coty Phillips (Andrew). She is also survived by Several nieces and nephews.
