He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Irwin Kennedy and Johnnie Tye Kennedy; and his brother T. J. Kennedy. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Ragan Kennedy; his children, Libby Nowell (Raymond), Angie M. Simms (Bruce), Laurie A. Martin, Robert M. Kennedy, Homer Steve Martin (Jeanie) and Edgar W. Martin (Kathy); and his sibling's children, Johnnie Davis (Ed), Thomas Kennedy (Elaine) and Bobby Joe Kennedy.
