He was predeceased by: his parents, James Starr, Sr. and Grace Hollaway; his wife Vickey Hall; his daughter Shelly Starr; his grandson Mark Dylan Lester; and his sisters, Lottie Holloway and Darlene Roper.
He is survived by: his daughter Nikki Eddy of Decatur; his brothers, Mike Starr (Paige) of Somerville, Guy Holloway Jr. (Tammy) of Somerville, David Starr of Hartselle, Greg Holloway (Savannah) of Hartselle and Ronnie Black; his sister-in-law Velma Hall; and his grandsons, Blake Lester and Tyler Lester of Atlantic, N. C. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
