She was predeceased by : her husband John Lewis McKay Sr.; her parents, Jefferson Alexander and Iona Lois Williams; and her brother Bobby Williams. She is survived by : her sons, John Lewis McKay Jr. (Lanetta), David Alexander McKay (Joyce), Timothy Levon McKay (Karen) and Joe Delbert McKay (Lisa); and her siblings, Venyard Williams (Martha), Betty Willingham (Sam) and Tonye Briscoe. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
