She was predeceased by: her husband Billy Charles Ballard; her mother Flora Allene Collum Chavis; her daughters, Gloria Fay Ballard and Dorothy Carol Ballard; her siblings, Betty Jean Meadows and George Allen "Sonny" Chavis; her half-siblings, Robert "Bob" Chavis, Lavonne Jones and Karen Chavis; and her stepbrother Fred Harris.
She is survived by: her children, Chuck Ballard and Kim McAteer; her grandson Justin McAteer (Lori); her great grandchildren, Charlie, Asher and Remi McAteer; her half-siblings, Wayne Chavis and Joan Santa Cruz; and her sisters-in-law, Joann Chavis and Nita Croy. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dorcas Women's Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church, Tallassee.
