He was predeceased by: his wife Mae Willa Mason; and his parents, Ira Mason and Bessie Mason. He is survived by: his children, Herbert "Herby" Mason (Gayle), Cindy Mason and Crossley (Hogue); his grandchildren, Charissa Crossley Oglesby (Eric), Brad Mason (Deborah) and Brandon H. Crossley; and his great grandchildren, Caleb Mason, Brady Mason and Nathan Mason.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Tallassee First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 780147, Tallassee, Alabama 36078-0147.
