He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Benton and Evelyn Benton; his wife Sylvia Benton; and his brother Danny Benton. He is survived by: his sister Brenda Crosby of Glennville; and his children, Laura Williams (Tim) of Gastonia, NC., Lisa Taunton (Donald) of Tallassee, AL and Jeff Baker (Christina). He is also survived by his grandsons; great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery (8819 US-301, Glennville, GA 30427).
