He is survived by: his wife Dixie P. Newton of Thomasville, AL; his children, Dick Newton (Christy) of Thomasville, AL and Kim Smith (Gray) of Thomasville, AL; and his sister Mattie Beth Harrison of Demopolis, AL. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sweet Water Cemetery Fund.
