Claylan Verdell is survived by : wife Annettia McCall Hawkins; grandchildren, Eddie Hawkins and Jacob Hawkins; sister Angie Hawkins; niece Amanda Cox (Lexa Hamilton); and cousins, Ann Gunter, JoJo Tishaw, Marcus Tishaw and B. B. Dodd.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel (40 Cornerstone Dr, Ider, AL 35981). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
