He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Rodgers Jr. and Anita Paige Rodgers; and his sister Carolyn Slack. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rodgers; his daughter Denise Barnes; his son-in-law Berry Barnes; his son Darren Rodgers; his granddaughter Victoria Barnes; and his brother Dennis Rodgers (Melanie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home (1591 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project, two causes close to Jim's heart.
