He is survived by: his wife Caroline Golden Knowles; his children, James Knowles (Maria), Mark Knowles (Ruth Ann) and Susanna Knowles Vaughn (Dale); his siblings, Jimmy Knowles (Peggy) and Patsy Knowles Morgan; and his grandchildren, Brandi Knowles Smith, Candace Knowles Smith, Melissa Knowles Gilmore, Michelle Knowles Dailey, Michael Knowles, Savannah Vaughn Moon and Olivia Vaughn Hoffman.
