He was predeceased by: his parents, Davis Burton and Amelia Burton; his stepmother Frances Burton; and his sister Johnnie Burton Commander Rahm. He is survived by: his wife Frankie O'Neal Burton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; his children, Carla Burton Gale (Tom) of Dallas, Angela Burton Hamiter (Drew) of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Davis O'Neal Burton of Birmingham, Ala. and Brian Wesley Burton (David Gillock) of Birmingham, Ala.; his grandchildren, Grayson Carlsson Gale, Thomas "Burton" Gale, Ellis Coy Hamiter and Amelia Carrolline Hamiter; and his sister-in-law Sondra O'Neal Walker (Downey). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Forest Lake United Methodist Church, The Community Foundation of West Alabama, or the local Salvation Army.
